Buy Weight Bench- Find Out More

By: michael russell Home | Health-and-Fitness | Exercise

If you like to work out, you probably want to buy weight bench sets so that you can lift at home. This will save you money in the long run, since you won't be paying monthly dues at a health club. If you are considering a purchase like this, you should know that while the basic weight bench set up is consistent throughout most brands, there are some varieties or additions that can set one or two apart from the others. While the differences are subtle, they might serve you better, so you should investigate each model thoroughly.

First of all, you want to be sure that you buy weight bench that is suited for your work outs. For instance, some benches simply lie horizontally and are based used for bench pressing, as well as combinations of dumbbell work. More commonly known as a flat bench, this is the most basic style that is easy to use in your own home gym. It is suitable for seated presses as well.

Most people, though, would be better suited to get a folding bench for their home gym. This is because it is most similar to what you will find at the gym and is more versatile, allowing for a greater range of exercises.

Not only does it have the option of raising it between 0 and 90 degrees, it lets you do incline presses, which works your muscles differently than the straight flat bench. Of course, you can always return it to its neutral position, to get the full range of motion during your work out.

Sometimes, you want to buy weight bench that also has an option for leg hold-down, which prevents you from cheating your workouts because you use your legs too much.

These special options are always at the base of the bench, and in some cases can be removed. On more advanced equipment, they are also where you might install weights so that you can do things like calf curls and leg extensions.

No matter what you are looking for, you can be sure to find a wide variety on the internet, with prices following a range as well. You can look to spend upwards of $400-$500 for a quality, versatile weight bunch, but you can also find heavy duty flat benches for your basic workouts for around $150. Remember that the online retail world is vast, so you should consider multiple sites before settling on a purchase.
