c:four limited, a UK based software company, launch iStudio Publisher, the next generation of page layout software for Mac OS X at MacWorld Expo, San Francisco.

iStudio Publisher is an exciting, state-of-the-art page layout program for home, small business and educational users, designed to help these users easily create, present and publish professional-looking documents.

"iStudio Publisher has been designed to enable anyone to create great looking documents, newsletters and flyers quickly and easily, " said Paul O'Connor, director of c:four. Featuring a shape library of commonly used items and dynamic text wrapping, iStudio Publisher lets users create free-form arrangements of text, graphics, and photos with such simplicity as never seen before.

Notes to the Editors

About c:four
We are a team of magazine and newspaper publishers, graphic designers and software architects. We were increasingly frustrated with the applications on the market. We wanted something better and decided it was time to change things ourselves.

We came to the conclusion that instead of creating a simple one-off desktop publishing application, which had limited scope of enhancement, we should build a publishing engine. An engine which could be used to create not just one, but many great publishing applications, capable of working under any operating system or platform; capable of handling a wide variety of users, at the same time, in multiple locations and by working to the Unicode standard, able to operate in all languages.

Having created the c:four engine, we then set about creating our first publishing application, encompassing layout, formatting, font & color management, display & editing including H&J, storage & retrieval, rendering & printing. Our first application using the c:four engine is iStudio Publisher.
