So, you have gotten a little older, and your body tends to complain more than it did before. The idea of gathering up your outdoor gear and finding an out of the way, remote location to camp in just doesn't seem to be as important as it was when you were younger, much younger. If you are hoping for a little less "roughing it," then consider staying at an RV park for your next excursion. When was the last time you went camping? Most people haven't camped since they were very young, when they went with scouting troops. Most of us would never exercise on our own, so it was good to take part in hiking and survival activities. It was then that camping equipment was a sleeping bag and a tent. That doesn't even get close to what is considered modern day camping equipment. Does your child regularly go camping with a group such as a Boy Scout or Girl Scout troop? Camping has changed from the days when you were scouting or away at summer camp and, unless you have a child who camps, you may not know this. Today, camping entails going to a campground in an RV park. Camping doesn't mean tent pitching, fire starting, or unrolling sleeping bags. For the fun to begin, all you need to do is hook up for power! The word camper now usually refers to the sleeping accommodations you have at the campground, instead of the person going camping. Increased technology has even found its way into basic camping gear. If you camp with an RV, you may have some restrictions in where you can go. It is common for RV parks to require reservations instead of admitting those who just show up. You must find an RV park and make campground reservations if you are seeking to camp 21st century style, because the first come first serve motto is the motto of the past. Thankfully in today's times, mom is not responsible for cooking over an open fire, nor does she have to boil lake water to clean dishes. Camping in the modern way means that everyone can focus on just having a good time. It wouldn't be much of a vacation if you still had to work all day!
