Care For A Few Exiting Paintball Playing Talents?

By: EdwinPutnam Home | Recreation-and-Sports

The Fears of Paintball

Many people shy away from trying paintball because they are worried about getting hurt. Now to be perfectly honest, paintballs can cause bruises. This is most likely to happen if players are shooting at each other at a close range. In contrast, games where players are spread out sufficiently usually mean that no one will experience injuries. Also, if you are wearing appropriate protective gear, paintball shots should have little effect on you other than to splatter you with paint. So if you have put off playing paintball because of the fear of pain, simply dress well for the occasion and go out and enjoy yourself.

Paintball Bruises

One of the biggest misconceptions about paintball, and perhaps one of the biggest reasons why people do not get into the game, is the fear of welts and bruises that paintballs can incur. It is definitely true that you will take a lot of hits during a paintball game, and a couple of them might hurt a bit. The closer players are to each other, the more likely it is that the shots they take will cause some bruising. Most paintball shots taken over long-distance or in a paintball game hardly cause any pain or bruises. Also, if you are wearing appropriate protective gear, paintball shots should have little effect on you other than to splatter you with paint. There is no reason to keep yourself away from the game as long as you take the precautions of wearing the right gear and making sure everyone understands what is fair and what is not in terms of shooting distance.

Recruiting your Friends to Play Paintball

Paintball is very much a multiplayer sport. As much fun it is to have target practice and go out to shoot paintballs by yourself, it is much better to play with more than one person. However, finding a group of people who are willing to dedicate time and money to playing paintball can sometimes be hard. You can woo people to the sport by minimizing these commitments and maximizing their fun. One way to do this is to start with playing laser tag and then switching to paintball after a few times of playing. Check with local sports gear places to see if they have paintball equipment for rent. In this way you can minimize the financial burden in order to give your friends an opportunity to enjoy the game for the first time. As you play, make sure everyone is learning what to do and focus less on winning than having a good time. Giving your friends these initial fun experiences will interest them in progressing in the game; whereas if all your friends experience is being blown out of the water with a shutout, they will be unlikely to want to try the next time.

Using Paintball Guns Safety

Paintball guns can be considered a toy; however, they are still projectile weapons that can inflict damage upon yourself and others. Every person who decides to paintball should wear safety equipment. Another safety tip is to have respect for the power of paintball guns and not point them point blank at yourself or others. If you are going to play paintball for the first time, make sure that you are doing so with somebody that has experience. Have him or her show you the proper use and techniques in firing a paintball gun. The guns are obviously not lethal; however, it is important to understand general safety tips with guns and how to handle them.
