Cd Replication Vs Cd Duplication

By: Rinkel Kapoor Home | Arts-and-Entertainment | Music

Is there any obvious difference visible between CD replication and duplication processes? No? Well think again. Although these two are two methods of duplicating data on other discs, the underlying distinction is done based on the nature of the business, time limit and certain features. Still both the methods are popular in their own right. The added misconception of one method being better or CD duplication not being an accurate method will clear out in due time. Mean while let’s look at some of the present differences in the two processes.

CD replication is the process of making many copies at the same time from one master copy. The data is first glass mastered into a mould which is injected with polycarbonates plastic pellets. With the use of aluminum targets a reflective layer is laid on the CD and turned into liquid form. Finally, it is silkscreen printed and packaged duly in attractive slip covers and boxes. What is more interesting to know is the each of the CD is Qced. In addition, CD or DVD replication process is an automated system that means cutting down on costs, although initial set up does require a lot of capital.

CD duplication on the other hand, refers to the process of copying or duplicating information on to blank discs one at a time. The data before copying is ether rejected or accepted. Every CD cannot be Qced here however, as it depends upon the CD-R or the laser. One can start with a mere a CD burner and no extra costs are involved here. The process however is termed as costly.

After all these differentiating features there is still one point left which becomes the deciding factor for any firm to chooser DVD duplication method or replication method.
It is the nature of anyone’s business say like having a large production of over 500 units they should be more than willing to go for CD replication as it is more profitable. While on the other hand having a small production would automatically ask a company to opt for CD duplication process as it inspires more costs. It all depends upon the company portfolio in the end.
