A Google AdWords professional is a person that has taken a course (Google Advertising professional program) and passed a test certifying that they have advanced knowledge of Google AdWords. To become a Google AdWords professional the person must manage an AdWords account for 90 days and reach a level of at least $1,000 within the 90 days. The Google AdWords Professional program began in November of 2004. If the exam is passed the person can market themselves as a Google AdWords Professional and can help businesses set up their AdWords accounts. Google AdWords has become a popular form of advertising and the businesses and individuals that need assistance setting up their ad in AdWords is growing. A person that wants to become a Google AdWords Professional should be serious about taking the exam when they sign up because the money for the test ($50) is not refundable. A person must receive at least a 75% out of 100% to pass the Google AdWords Professional exam. If the exam is failed it can be taken twice a month until passed; however, the $50 fee will occur each time the test is taken. The exam to become a Google AdWords professional is administered by a third party test giver that gives the test on-line. When signing in to take the exam the person trying to become the Google AdWords Professional should be ready to take it right then. The test is timed (1 hr & 30 min.) and there are not any pauses that can be taken for about 100 questions. A Google AdWords Professional will help a client determine keywords to use for AdWords, review their website and help determine their daily budget for maximum cost per click. They will also monitor the site and perform the necessary follow-up. When looking for a Google AdWords Professional someone can look at large companies where they house several of these website designers or they can look for someone who is self employed. Google recommends using Google maps to search for a Google AdWords Professional to find someone that can help. A Google AdWords Professional helps a business concentrate on their business and allows them to not have to worry about this advertising campaign. The professional can focus on the website and keywords and then monitor the success. A technical person can gain this fairly new certification for little money and will be able to help a large and growing group of business’s advertise in the correct markets.
