Not all structures are created equal and most will experience a water leak here and there. Most people think that owning a newer home can prevent these leaks but sometimes that is not true. It is always a wise choice to have a handy supply of some mold remediation products ready to use in case a water leak happens. The quicker you react to a water leak the quicker you can relieve your home of black mold. Never forget, black mold can grow at an alarming rate so you must react very quickly to prevent the worst case scenario. I have experienced plumbing leaks in our home and the water came up and overflowed into our office area. All the carpets were soaked and our main computer was sitting in 1 inch of water. i needed to get this fixed as soon as possible so i went down to the office and tried to assess the damages and i already smelled that musty smell that mold spores give off when you have a mold problem. There was no way i was going to get any work completed because i guess i started having an allergic reactions to the mold and i developed some skin irritations and a nasty headache. i figured it was in my best interest to fix this mold problem before it got even worse than it already was. I went online and purchased some new mold remover that was very beneficial to me. I went and searched for a local machine rental store and i rented a machine that would suck up the extra water and steam my carpets at the same time. i went back home and began to start the mold remediation process. The first step i took was i used the water vaccuum machine to extract as much extra water i could to make sure it was no standing water left. The mold removal kit that i purchased came with a mold remover and a mold blocker. One was to kill the mold and the 2nd mold remediation product acted as a shield to prevent the mold from returning. This system worked out very nicely as you will see. I then took the mold remover product and poured it into the carpet cleaning machine. After i used the carpet machine to apply the solution to every area of the carpet that was wet and made sure the mold cleaner got to the root of the carpet so the brushes of the carpet cleaning machine could lift up any mold spores and dirt. I then let the mold killers sit for 15 minutes like the directions said. I bought one of those orkin man spray bottles and filled it up and sprayed the whole carpet down again just to make sure i wasn't missing anywhere mold could grow. This time i turned the vacuum switch to on position on the carpet cleaning machine and gave it another cleaning. Now the first step of the mold remediation process was complete. The next part was easy. The secondnatural mold remediation formulas was the mold encapsulator. I applied the solution to all the carpeting in the room and left it alone to dry. That was it! The back of the bottle said to reapply if needed in which i did to be better safe than sorry. Now i have no smell of mold in my office and I and i am working in a clean work environment which now i no longer have to worry about throbbing headaches due to the mold spores. My main goal was to remove the mold from my carpets in which i was successful. But i never thought my carpeting would have come out so clean and fluffy by using the mold remediation products. i am more relieved that i had enough time to react to this problem before it got out of hand.
