Chicago Hyundai Elantra Customers Can Enjoy New Green Navigation Option

By: Darryl Lundgreen Home | Automotive | Cars

Hyundai is taking navigation to the next level. Chicago Hyundai Elantra buyers who enjoy a little help getting where they need to go will appreciate the addition of NAVTEQ, the leading provider of those tools around the world.
Your Chicago used Hyundai dealership is pleased to be able to offer Hyundai models with NAVTEQ services. The best part is that this system offers a green’ routing choice, which you can choose instead of the normal shortest’ or fastest’ options. Right now the NAVTEQ system is being added to the new Hyundai Veloster models.
The digital maps in the NAVTEQ package also has ADAS features like height, slopes and curvature and this provides more accurate information and figures in terrain features. Along with the NAVTEQ Traffic Patterns, calculating traffic snarls, etc., drivers can be routed around most obstacles. This also allows for minimum fuel usage as the routes are shortened and drivers are spared time sitting and waiting with idling engines.

"It is rare for this type of 'green routing' option to be available in C-segment vehicles but we are looking to exploit any opportunity which encourages responsible driving and lowers CO2 emissions," Allan Rushforth, COO & SVP European Operations, Hyundai Motor Europe GmbH, said. "By leveraging NAVTEQ's expertise and support services we can improve customer benefits and move beyond the map to ADAS data and other advanced content to bring this technology to higher volume models."
Chicago Hyundai Elantra buyers will be impressed with the way this technology saves on fuel. We suspect it also lowers stress levels in drivers. Comparing green routes with fastest routes in several U.S. and European cities showed a minimum of six percent less fuel on the green routes. New York and Chicago were included in this testing.
"NAVTEQ has, for the past several years, developed advanced content which supports OEs efforts to reduce CO2 emissions, working towards the larger goal of saving the environment," Bruno Bourguet, SVP Sales EMEA, NAVTEQ, explained. "Our collaboration with Hyundai has been particularly satisfying as it enabled them to deliver an innovative navigation platform integrating a green routing option in addition to the traditional 'shortest' or 'fastest' routes. This delivers on the larger environmental objective while also meeting the interests of its drivers."
So what this means for customers of the Chicago used Hyundai dealership is the opportunity to get to your destination easily, save some fuel and probably some time when you get this NAVTEQ system. Though it’s only going into the Hyundai Veloster initially, we predict it will spread quickly.
Who knew navigation could be green? Apparently there is no end to the green craze, so we might as well jump on board and benefit from the savings.
