Choose The Correct Pet Diet For Your Puppy

By: Charlie Board Home | Home-and-Family | Pets

When a puppy is brought home it is so easy to get carried away with making sure he has enough toys, a dog bed and other essential pet accessories that the concept of pet food can be last on the list. It is essential that a pet diet and feeding a puppy (or adult dog) should be at the top of a pet owner’s list. Dog nutrition is an essential part of a puppy’s life and choosing the correct quality dog food will help a puppy to grow quickly into an adult dog, with strong bones and tissues. Diet and exercise is what humans do in order to keep fit and healthy through the different stages of their life, and the same rules have to apply to your puppy.

In the marketplace, dog food manufacturers are all sure their dog food is the best that you can be feeding to your pet. Some of the various dog food products available are cheap, but that does not necessarily mean they are good for your dog.

Nutrition is based on the quality of the ingredients and is the key to your pet’s good health. It also helps to carefully read the label to ensure the quality of the ingredients and level of fat and salt are correct for your puppy.

All breeds of dogs require meat as they are carnivores. It is fine that vegetarians make sure their pets have some grated vegetables, but the main ingredient has to be quality meat.

A balanced pet diet should include proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals with low levels of fat and salt. We at Hills Pets have a range of quality pet food, containing quality meat products such as chicken, beef or lamb, mixed with vegetables and minerals for both puppies and adult dogs.
