Everyone loves fancy dress. Nothing quite adds to a party like people dressed in outrageous costumes dancing, laughing and drinking late into the night. But finding the right fancy dress costumes is important to make sure that you can enjoy your evening. Everyone remembers the wonderful cameo of Bridget Jones turning up at her parents’ party dressed as a Bunny Girl †only to find that at this very proper and traditional gathering she is the only one in fancy dress. You need to think about what will be comfortable not just when you try it on but what will still be comfortable after two or three hours. Will it be too hot? If you’re a great dancer and you love to get out on the floor and trip the light fantastic for hours on end then your fancy dress costumes need to be cool and not too restrictive. Even if you’re still something of all a wallflower who prefers to watch and just to chat finding a costume that is going to be nice to wear all night rather than for the first drink and the initial â€hallos’ is important. It’s also important to think about how it will fit your character or personality and what it will say about you. Even if you’re not trying to create a good impression, look good in front of your boss or even make that special someone take notice, finding a costume that is funny and slightly outrageous but which is still right for who you are is important. Is the party themed? This will allow you to use some imagination to create something that fits in with the mood or feel of the party. You also have to be tactful and make sure you don’t offend. The next question is - are you going with a group of friends? In this case your fancy dress costumes should least fit so that you all have fun together.
