Christian Parenting: What A Parent Must Do To Teach Their Children

By: honylyn01 Home | Home-and-Family | Parental Care

Most of the parents are looking for ways on how they can guide their children to a better look so that they can have the best possible life ahead. If you are one of these kind and loving parents, you probably look for Christian parenting books and spent several hours so that you can make sure that your children will walk on the right path. However, some parents forget that good parenting to their children also requires time and effort and of course guidance from the Lord. There is nothing wrong with Christian parenting books but do not only rely on what you read. You also need to understand what it takes.

Christian parenting is not simply about saying your prayers every night or reading the Bible. Instead you are also necessary to reach your children the things that they need to know and understand. You must also help them through their lives and the paths that they will take as they grow old. You need to support them as their parents. Here are some essential things that each parent must teach to their children.

Parents must teach their children to be confident. It is known for everybody to experience a time of uncertainty and lack of self-belief, but sometimes those fleeting moments due to anxiety, if left abandoned, can develop your children into something more severe like self hatred and misery. Remember that Christians parenting are necessary to be able to teach your children who God is. According to 1 Peter 2:9, all Christians were â€...a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.†Every parent does not want their children to grow to be conceited people and full of pride, but do teach them to have an extremely healthy level of self-assurance. It is vital to know that we must have a lot of self-assurance because as Christians, every one of us is children of God.

As parent, you must teach your children to trust God. How much do you trust the Lord? Do you trust God with your life? Do you really trust Him? These are some thoughts that need to be answered before teaching your children to trust God. As Christians, even though we all know that we are thought to let Him to be our God and manage our lives. It is very appealing to let God to have a part in our lives and try to make things happen in our own will and power. If you have never tried this then you must do to teach your children to also trust God. 1 Peter 5:7 says that â€cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.†With this verse in the Bible, you can see that it stated all of your anxieties. If you want to trust God and teach your children to also trust Him, you need to have faith and if you feel like a little bit wobbly with your faith, you only need to read the Word to restore your faith again. You also need to teach your children that in times that they were feel burnout and helpless, they can always turn to God to ask and receive strength.

Parents must teach their children how to share. This may looks like a clear belief, but incredibly, several individuals were never learned how to share when they were still young. This may not looks like a huge problem, but with Christian parenting, it is vital to teach your children what is the meaning of sharing. No one wants to be around a grown person who turns down to be just. This will actually hold back your children once they enter the world of business. Moreover, it will also affect their marriage life because this sacrament is all about compromise. You need to put up particular situations where your children will apply sharing with other people. It may be not comfortable for them for a moment, but it will help them later in life.
