Nicotine itself is not addictive, but it is responsible for releasing dopamine, a neurotransmitter associated with pleasure and reinforcements in the brain, thus inducing addictive tendencies in humans.Out of the many ways to quit cigarette smoking, the only method which has a mass of anecdotal evidence to support it is that of quitting cold turkey. Now, that is not to mean you can't use a secondary method to help you with quit the cigarette habit cold turkey; on the contrary, that is encouraged. The active chemical nicotine, which is present in every tobacco cigarette in varying levels, is one of the most powerfully-addictive substances in the human experience. This is one of those smoking facts smokers may not know on an intellectual level, though they certainly feel it on a personal level in the physical craving for a cigarette they experience at all times.

The other reason why smoker should be quitting cigarette because they can also hurt others as secondhand smoke or passive smoking can be as dangerous as the actual effects of smoking to the smoker. But as soon as you quit smoking, your chance of being affected can also drop as this is a quit smoking fact. If you are tired of coughing up a lung first thing in the morning or running out of breath while walking up the stairs then maybe, just maybe its time to consider quitting smoking once and for all. Put that smoking in the past and find out what foods really taste like, what it feels like to jog through the park and how nice it is to have your significant other want to kiss you.

About 3 million cigarettes per minute are consumed in China alone. There are 300 million smokers in China thus the high consumption of cigarettes amounting to 1.7 trillion sticks a year. Whenever you appear at the various ads for cigarettes you will see that cigarettes are portrayed as components that will present the smoker with an graphic of self-confidence and offer you with an aura of glamor. Given that a lot of distinct settings and lifestyles are displayed in these advertisements it makes persons think that owning cigarettes can be a fantastic way to boost their image.

There is more to just the addictive effect of smoking. The damaging substance, nicotine affects the whole body's normal functioning.
