Cirrhosis Of The Liver And Cirrhosis Treatment

By: Dr. Mital John Home | Health-and-Fitness

Cirrhosis is a term that refers to a group of chronic diseases of the liver in which normal liver cells are damaged and replaced by scar tissue, decreasing the amount of normal liver tissue. When scar tissue develops in the liver, the amount of normal liver tissue decreases and the liver is unable to function normally.

The diseases that lead to cirrhosis do so because they injure and kill liver cells and the inflammation and repair that is associated with the dying liver cells causes scar tissue to form. The liver cells that do not die multiply in an attempt to replace the cells that have died.

The distortion of the normal liver structure by the scar tissue interferes with the flow of blood through the liver. It also handicaps the function of the liver which, through the loss of normal liver tissue, leads to failure of the liver to perform some of its critically important functions.

Liver Cirrhosis Causes: -

â€Chronic viral infections of the liver (hepatitis types B, C, and D; Hepatitis D is extremely rare).
â€The hepatitis C virus is a liver infection that is spread by contact with an infected person’s blood. Chronic hepatitis C causes inflammation and damage to the liver over time that can lead to cirrhosis.
â€Glycogen storage diseases, in which the body is unable to process glycogen, a form of sugar that is converted to glucose and serves as a source of energy for the body.
â€Drugs, toxins, and infections - Other causes of cirrhosis include drug reactions, prolonged exposure to toxic chemicals, parasitic infections, and repeated bouts of heart failure with liver congestion.
â€Budd- Chiari syndrome, which is caused by blood clots blocking the veins carrying blood from the liver.

Liver Cirrhosis Home Remedies: -

â€Consumption of buttermilk with some roasted cumin seeds sprinkled over it is one of the easiest and effective treatments for liver cirrhosis.
â€Mix one tablespoon of juice of black seeds of papaya with ten drops of fresh lime juice and have it once or twice daily for a month. Good Home Remedy for Liver Care.

â€Papaya seeds also work effectively in curing liver cirrhosis. Grind some papaya seed. Once a powdery substance is formed, add 10 drops of lime juice. Intake this for about one to two times a day for about a month.
â€Take 50-70 grams of white radish leaves and stem, add sugar candy, and drink it in every morning on an empty stomach to liver maintenance.
â€High carbohydrate intake is advisable to provide the good quality amount of energy.
â€Daily intake of a pinch of roasted alum with buttermilk two times or thrice daily is highly helpful in treating liver damage.
