The City of Manchester Stadium’s Legends suite has reached the final three in a national catering industry awards scheme. Already one of the stadium’s most popular hospitality options, Legends is one of only three projects in the UK to be shortlisted in the category for â€best kitchen design, supply and installation’ in the profit sector in Catering Equipment Distributors (CEDA) Grand Prix Awards. he facility underwent a radical refurbishment as part of the City of Manchester Stadium’s 1.5m corporate hospitality facilities revamp last summer. As part of this, Caterware Limited supplied a state-of-the art kitchen which includes a full Angelo Po cooking suite and walk in cold room. Speaking about making the CEDA finals, City’s Head of Catering Operations, Neil Worcester and award-winning chef, John Benson-Smith, said: â€We’re extremely proud to have been nominated as a finalist in recognition for our exceptional Legends’ kitchen facilities. We’ve invested a lot of time and effort into our hospitality facilities, and we are particularly proud of Legends.†'Our guests are treated to the ultimate hospitality experience at the City of Manchester Stadium, and the Legends kitchen plays a pivotal role in ensuring we deliver this. We go the extra mile to ensure that everyone receives a unique and personalised service, one which we believe is beyond anything else in the Premier League.' In addition to state-of-the-art facilities in the kitchen, Legends’ boasts one of the best panoramic pitch-side views in the Premier League. Restyled to offer sensational, contemporary surroundings for fans who like to make the most of a match day, Legends features two new bars, a 250,000 glass, chrome and corian display area where guests can see mouth watering dishes prepared by City’s top chefs, all accessed via a new entrance. Luxurious wallcoverings are teamed with bespoke floor coverings and ambient lighting, together with the addition of six plasma screens, for guests to catch the latest scorelines. Corporate guests are at the heart of City’s business community, with over 500 businesses including Porsche, Mercedes Benz and KPMG, enjoying hospitality at the Stadium last season. In good company, the City of Manchester Stadium’s Legends is competing against Heston Blumenthal’s Bar Boulud at Mandarin Oriental, Hyde Park, and Coworth Park Hotel & Spa, a new kitchen for John Campbell. CEDA Grand Prix judges will visit Legends for a provisional inspection this month, during which they will view the facility, speak to the team and check that all the award submission details are an accurate reflection of the project. The overall winner will be announced at the Grand Prix Awards Dinner in April. If successful, Legends will compete against the overall winners of three other categories for the coveted â€CEDA Grand Prix Trophy’, announced on the evening of the Grand Prix Awards’ dinner.
