By: Jingyu bai Home | Health-and-Fitness | Alternative-Medicine

Wind and excessive heat, according to Chinese tradition are responsible for many imbalances in the body. In particular lung and stomach heat are especially detrimental to skin health. Heat and dampness lead to lesions on the surface of the skin in addition. All of these conditions are influenced by diet, hormones and emotional state. Pi fu Xue du wan is a Chinese herbal formulation designed to address the conditions of imbalance that lead to symptoms such as inflammation and skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema and acne.

Acne is a common problem for many people. It usually begins in adolescence when hormones start to fluctuate and heat rises as a result. Hair follicles clog with the presence of excessive sebum, skin cells and bacterial forms. This causes a plug to form and to swell. Acne most often occurs on the face and upper body. For instance, the most common focus of outbreaks is on the face, back and chest. It can and occasionally does appear on other parts of the body.

Tradition suggests that when acne is a result of heat in the lungs, the outbreak may be more pronounced on the upper face. When stomach heat is implicated there may be more acne lesions on the back and shoulders. When excessive dampness is present then the acne lesions (pustules) can be deep. Pi fu bing xue du wan is an intricate blend of ingredients that improves the condition of the acne by restoring healthy balance. For example, schizonepeta (Herba Schizonepetae) is an herb that acts specifically on the lungs and also the liver. It is used frequently to dispel wind-heat. Another important addition to Pi fu bing xue du wan that fights acne is ledebouriella root ( Radix Ledebouriellae) that reduces acne in part by dispersing wind.

Dahurian angenica root is a pungent, warm herb. Its influence is felt in the lungs where it dispels wind and clears passages it is a component in Pi fu bing xue du wan also because it is known for draining pus and reducing inflammation as well. Rehmannia root (Radix Rehmanniae) also clears away heat. It is also used to support Yin which is beneficial to the fluid balance in the body. This is a sweet and bitter root that supports the kidneys, liver and heart.

Pi fu bing xue du wan contains a nourishing blend of herbs and roots, each carefully chosen for its beneficial qualities. There are more than 30 herbs and roots in this skin nourishing formula.
