She once was Katherine Hepburn and Grace Kelly personal stylist, Coco Chanel was responsible in 1931 for the costumes of movie producer Samuel Goldwyn, he engaged Coco as she was one of the first world famous movie stylists. Coco moved to America, she was known to work very hard and received a lot of inquiries, she didn't had the time to travel back and forward from Europe. Many years later Coco returned back to France to open her own shop, that was in 1954, as she was constantly working, she didn't had a love life and didn't wanted to loose time, Coco moved across the street of her business, and moved into the Ritz apartment. But it all began on August 19 1883, Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel was born, and she didn't had a very happy childhood, she was raised in an orphanage as her mother died when she was only 6 years old, there were 6 children in total and her father couldn't handle such a responsibility. Gabrielle was always dreaming and although it wasn't a very lovely environment for a small child she managed to survive with her lively imagination. That simplicity will return back in her designs; simple black Chanel dress. Gabrielle grew out to be an independent strong young woman, she learns the skills in Moulins just a few hours away from Paris. She loves to go out in the evening to the local pub, it is here were she got the name Coco; she use to sing "Who has seen Coco in the Trocadero". Etienne Balsan enters Cocos life as her first big love. But it is "Boy" a hockey player who steals her hart, he helps her to built out her first shop, where she sells hats. But a few years later Boy died in an accident in 1919. A few years later the world most famous perfume: Chanel N°5 hits the market. The impact of Cocos designs are enormous, up until this day Chanel is one of the most prestigious and most famous designer clothes. Carl Lagerfield is now the top designer of Chanel and he is dedicated to follow the simplicity Coco has always had in her designs.
