Looking into cold sore home remedies? Cold sores are a real nuisance aren't they? Sometimes over the counter remedies don't quite do the job though and we're forced to try out alternative remedies. If you're tired of feeling defenseless every time you feel that familiar tingle and see those bumps pop up, here are a few tips to get them off your face fast: 1. Bleach The Sore The first of the cold sore home remedies I'm going to touch on will have you use bleach on your sore. It's quite over the top, bleach is a powerful chemical, if you're not careful you can wind up with a small scar so be careful. What you have to do is wet the tip of a cotton swab with some water then place that into a bottle of bleach, this process should dilute things well enough. Then what you need to do is squeeze out the excess fluid from the swab and place the swab on the sore. This treatment will hurt, but if you hold it in place for about 3 minutes this should kill off the sore and prevent it from growing any further. 2. Peroxide Solution + Nail Polish Remover Here's another intense solution for you, use at your own risk. Sterilize a needle and pop your cold sore letting the fluid out. Next, apply some nail polish remover to a Q-Tip and place that over the sore for 20-30 minutes. After this, mix up some salt, peroxide and crushed Asprin, this will form the second part of the torture, I mean treatment. What you'll do is dip a Q-Tip into this and dab it onto the affected area and leave that on to dry. Next, head off to bed with this left on and when you get up the next day it should have shrunk down. Now these cold sore home remedies are quite extreme and it is possible they can leave a scar so be careful with them. If you'd rather not subject yourself to this torture, it would be best not to try these, there are safer remedies which are just as effective if not more so.
