Color Explosion Glow Board - Buy Holiday Gift For Adopted Baby

By: Harley Hamilton Home |

If you're the parent of a newly adopted child, or if you know someone who is, the holidays or other special occasions can be difficult in that you might not know what to buy for the child. Oftentimes, the baby adopted is not a newborn, so it can be difficult to know just what to get. Sometimes, even the new parent or parents don't know quite what the child likes (especially if the child is an older child), because they haven't yet gotten a chance to know the child's likes and dislikes. One possible solution is the Crayola Color Explosion Glow Board.

The Crayola Color Explosion Glow Board lets your child (or that of someone special to you) display unique artistic talents by drawing on board that then lights up those drawings just like a neon sign. The ink used takes on an eye-catching glow that your child will have fun with for hours. Best yet, the board is completely reusable, and the ink used can be erased in a second. And with two layers to draw on, children will never run out of room on when they're making their creations. Using easy to manage controls, children can switch between one layer and the other for exciting effects.

Best yet, the Glow Board's colors come in neon orange, green, yellow, blue, red and pink. The only limit is the child's imagination.

Of course, this is not necessarily an appropriate toy if the adopted child is actually a newborn -- but that doesn't mean that Santa (or Mom or Dad) can't put it under the tree at a later date or that it can't be tucked away for use in a year or two.

Depending on the circumstances, you or your friends or family might throw a little party when the new little one arrives. This is a great opportunity to bring gifts to the new family, especially if they haven't had a child of the adopted child's age or a baby in the house for a while, if ever. If you're a parent yourself, no doubt you know what a child of that age and gender would like or could use, so simply feel free to bring along an appropriate gift based on age and sex of the child. It will most certainly be appreciated by a new family overwhelmed (even though happy) with lots of new changes.

One good toy besides the above mentioned Glow Board to bring to an adopted child is a cuddly stuffed animal. Oftentimes, children in new situations can feel insecure (especially if they're not very small babies or newborns), and having a cuddly "friend" to latch onto can certainly help make the child much more comfortable in new situations.

If you or your friends or family members have a baby shower for the new arrival, make sure you ask the age of the child so that you bring appropriate gifts. In most cases, of course, if you don't bring entirely appropriate gifts, it's not going to matter much. They can be exchanged if they're not suitable, or they can be tucked away if they're just a little "old" for the child's present age.

Most importantly, though, the child should know that he or she is a very welcome addition to the family and feel loved and accepted. And that doesn't require a present at all.
