Communication Skills Training Tip #106 - Benefits Of Daydreaming For Calm And Creativity

By: Richard David Home | Self-Improvement | Motivational

I was just daydreaming and this communication skills tip just came to me. Daydreaming and Compassionate Communication can go hand in hand. This is a fun way to use your imagination to satisfy your needs. This tip is easy and can have amazing results for calm, positive energy and ease in your day to day life. Try this one now, it takes a few seconds to do.

Preparation: Take a few deep nourishing breaths. Breathe in rhythmically, inhale, 1,2,3 and exhale 1,2,3. Do this a few more times even adding more seconds to the breathing. It is a fast way to become calm.

The Exercise:

1: Imagine what need or value you would enjoy having satisfied today. (Example: I need more time to complete my project.)

2: Daydream for a few seconds or longer on a strategy that may meet this need. Example: ( I daydream that I will ask my coworker for assistance. He says yes and the job is complete in half the time. ) Already I can feel a calm. Now I can decide if I want to use the solution or imagine a different one. Your creativity may flow bigger and faster with ideas..

In Summary: Take a minute or two and enjoy your daydreaming. You will feel more relaxed when you have finished. Try the strategy that you have daydreamed when you have time, yet is not required to feel the calm. Just identifying your need will offer you extra positive energy. Our values or needs are our life energy so it is important to meet these needs. A needs/values list may be found at the website below. May you find ways to meet all your needs!
