Compare Hedge Trimmers

By: John MacNamera Home | Home-and-Family | Home-Improvement

In order to find the right hedge trimmer that will make trimming much easier and quicker you will need to compare hedge trimmers. When choosing the trimmer that is right for you, you will need to look at how much hedging you will need to do to be able to maintain your hedges. When you compare hedge trimmers you will find that there are many different kinds of trimmers to choose from.
I will talk in this guide about what you should look for so that you can be sure that you are choosing the right trimmer for your need.
You will first want to look at the blade length. This will be determined by the amount of hedging that you will need to do. The blades that are longer will cut more hedges faster. This is needed for people who have extensive hedging that needs to be done. The longer blades will also help you to reach further when you are trimming the hedges tops. However, the downside to a blade that is longer is that they are harder to handle and many times heavier.
If you are using your trimmer for normal use then you will be able to suffice with a blade of about fourteen inches. If you will be doing a lot of hedging then you will want to look for a blade that is twenty-four inches or even longer. You can find blades that are up to about thirty inches.
You will want to look next at the weight of the trimmer. The weight will determine how maneuverable the trimmer actually is. You will want to be sure that you choose one with a weight that makes you most comfortable. A trimmer that weights about 3kgs is considered to be light. This is what you will find with many models that are electric.
Trimmers that use gas to run are good for jobs that are bigger and for using the trimmers more frequently. However you will find that filling the trimmer with gas all the time can get quite inconvenient. They are also more expensive than other models. However, you will find if you are using them when it is wet outside this is better because those weather conditions are not recommended with use of an electric trimmer.
Trimmers that are battery powered are good for light and occasional use. However, you will want to be sure that the battery stays charged. If you run out of battery and are only half way finished trimming it could be quite frustrating. Be sure that take all this in account when you compare hedge trimmers.
