Control Your Panic Attacks - 3 Tips To Put Yourself At Ease!

By: Sean Banks Home | Health-and-Fitness

Panic attacks can be very intrusive on a person's life and when you have to deal with them on a regular basis, it can be quite troubling. You can feel one coming on and when it does, the first thing that you want to do is to get away from whatever is causing the episode. Problem is, there are times when these anxiety attacks can come on and you CAN'T get away. What can you do when this happens?

Is there a way that you can control your panic attacks?

Here are some tips that can give you a little help to control your panic attacks:

1. Take a minute to relax your mind. A lot of anxiety can be caused when you feel like you have a million things racing around all at once, and to get your mind to relax, it can help to control a panic attack. You need to be able to see that whatever it is that is making you feel anxiety, it's probably not as bad as you think it is.

2. Slow down your breathing. When an anxiety attack starts to come on, your breathing will usually quicken up and this just make things worse. Once your breathing increases speed, so will your heart rate and that makes the panic get worse and worse. So, consciously take a minute and slow down the speed of your breathing. This can give you some temporary relief.

3. Confront fears. Although this can cause some increased anxiety in the beginning, the more that you confront situations that may cause you to feel a panic episode, the easier it will become. An example of this would be public speaking. A lot of people feel anxiety when they have to speak in front of a crowd, but the more that they engage in public speaking, the more the panic starts to subside.
