Conversational Hypnosis The Healing Power Of Words

By: Robert Martin Home | Health-and-Fitness

Researchers in the field of medicine are in the process of finding alternate uses to existing pharma drugs as well as finding alternative therapies like yoga and Ayurveda for dealing with a variety of common disease and illness. One such line of therapy that is gaining popularity is hypnotherapy. There is increasing use of Hypnotherapy in surgical pain relief as well as a substitute to anesthesia. Hypnotherapy is also being widely employed to treat many psychological, emotional and physical disorders as well as to relieve pain in surgery, dentistry and in obstetrics. The most familiar form of hypnosis is the conversational hypnosis wherein one can hypnotize others with just the power of words. Hypnosis has been scientifically verified as an effective technique that can promote accelerated human change. The power of hypnosis to create desired changes in behavior and encourage mental and physical well-being can be exploited to the maximum with minimal effort.

Out of the many forms of hypnosis, conversational hypnosis has the power to literally transfer the thought process of the conscious mind to a subconscious hypnotic state. A person can be put into a hypnotic trance just by the power of suggestion and cures can be sought for those facing emotional and psychological instability. More over, conversational hypnosis has proved to help people overcome addictions such as smoking and alcoholism, and to help with bulimia.

As the human subconscious mind is creative, intuitive, irrational, and emotional some experiences in life can push you into creating a negative mind set and can keep you stuck in negative behavior. In the subconscious mind resides the record of every thought you have ever had, every word that has ever been said to you, every experience you have ever had. The subconscious mind can be compared to a computer which operates only on it's programming, so does your subconscious mind and so, similarly the human subconscious mind can be reprogrammed with the help of conversational hypnosis.

Contemporary conversational hypnotism employs a wide variety of forms of suggestion some of which are direct verbal suggestions or indirect verbal suggestions such as requests or insinuations, and non-verbal suggestion in the form of mental imagery, voice tonality, and physical manipulation. The suggestions and conversations in the conversational hypnosis are directed primarily to the subject's conscious mind, which passes it on to the "unconscious" or "subconscious" mind.

Conversational hypnosis can be applied on children who are in the habit of bedwetting or faced with chronic asthma. Conversational hypnosis can applied to overcome social drawbacks like stammering or blushing problems which otherwise has the potential to make their social lives miserable. Conversational hypnosis can be made use of to treat a number of phobias, panic attacks or Obsessional Compulsive Behaviour, and stress-related problems like impotency and insomnia in addition to conditions exacerbated by tension, such as irritable bowel syndrome, psoriasis and eczema, and excessive sweating. The primary objective of conversational hypnosis is to induce a habit of abstraction or concentration of attention, in which the attention of the subject is entirely absorbed with one idea, or train of ideas, whilst he is unconscious of, or indifferently conscious to, every other thing around.
