Cookie Gift Oxes

By: bretsykess Home | Writing-and-Speaking | Writing-Articles

Our youth group at church wants to lift money for a visit that the members wish to make. The trip is to attend a youth rally in the neighboring state. The journey will also include an in a single day keep at a large water park near the rally sight. We now have already performed some fund raising; but we are attempting to give you new ideas. We now have already had a bake sale. This was an excellent money maker, however we didn't know if one other one in a short time would be effectively received. One woman instructed that we make up cookie gift containers for the holidays.

This sounded like an attention-grabbing idea. The girl explained that the cookie reward containers might embrace what ever variety of cookies we would choose and the containers could be as elaborate or easy as we wished to make them. Folks would purchase the cookie reward boxes to provide as presents or to set out for guests. We decided that we needed to do this. The youngsters were excited because most of them enjoy making cookies. We had several weekends earlier than the holidays so we thought we'd start with two different sizes of the cookie gift boxes. One dimension would feature an assortment of two dozen cookies and the larger measurement would have 4 dozen. We determined to have three kinds of cookies. We chose spritz, because a number of group members had the cookie presses and they're easy and inexpensive to make. Filbert balls as a result of they give the impression of being good without having to embellish and the traditional lower out cookies. The youngsters needed the lower out cookies so they may have a frosting social gathering in the fellowship area. We need to preserve the fund raising activities fun so we agreed to the frosting party.

For the boxes we went to an area cake and candy supply store. They have a wide range of containers. We bought several ornamental containers that had vacation themes and then a number of plain white containers that might be decorated by the youth group members. We made twenty boxes of each size. Our value for the cookie gift bins was minimal as a result of most of us donated the ingredients for the cookies. We had priced vacation cookie trays on the local grocery retailer and bakery and found that they charged over $3.00/dozen. We thought this was expensive however because this was a fund raiser we decided we would charge $8.00 for the small field and $15.00 for the bigger box. We thought that we might drop the value the second weekend if they didn't sell.

The cookie reward packing containers had been a huge success. We sold out in minutes the first weekend and had folks requesting to be placed on an order checklist for the second weekend. Along with promoting the cookie present boxes we positioned a donation basket by the pay station. By the tip of the third weekend we had raised sufficient money to pay for the rally and water park costs, with extra money left over for the following event.
