Dance Holidays In South America

Let us take a look at some of the types of dance music you would find with dance holidays in South America.
Argentina is home to some of the world's most popular music called the tango. They are also famous for other music such the Cueca, Chamame, Chacarera and the Zamba. Some of the more modern rhythms of Argentina would include such music as Argentine Cumbia and the El Cuarteto. The most popular of the music found in Argentina today is Argentine rock, which gained it's popularity in the 1960's.

Bolivia
The native population of Bolivia is mostly linked with its music among the national styles of South America. More pop like sound was brought in to Bolivia in a more nationalistic period of the 1950's. Sounds such as ones from the Quechua and Aymara culture were accepted more and more and then gradually turned into a more pop like sound. The fusion of these sounds is greatly related to Los Kjarjas as well as making the Lambada popular too. Of course, there are other forms of music in Bolivia such as sayas, cumbia and huaynos are also greatly played today as well.

Brazil
Another country that has a long history of great musical development is the diverse country of Brazil. Their music ranges from the earlier part of the 20th century, bringing the samba into the light of the modern Musica Popular Brasileira. The also have an internationally known type of music called Bossa nova.

Chile
The music of the Andes, which is Chilean, shows the vibrant spirit of the Altiplano people. The Nueva Cancion was also originated there. The national dance of Chile is the ever popular Cueca.

So you see, if you are planning to go on one of the many Dance Holidays in South America, you will not be disappointed. There are many places to choose from, with just a few named above. You will come back from your holiday, refreshed, more in shape and feeling younger than ever.
