Halloween is a time when people can shout and scream uninhibitedly because the belief is the Halloween spirits are out to catch you. The term Halloween, is a derivative of the original term 'All-hallow-even' and has its origin in Ireland - though very popular today in most of the western world. Halloween's theme, in olden times, was associated with scary characters like witches, ghosts and devils, bats, owls, crows, vultures, haunted houses black magic, blood, mythical monsters, Dracula and Frankenstein's monster and similar frightful objects and characters. Halloween nights, at times, are marred by vandalism such as soaping windows, egging houses or stringing toilet paper through trees and ragging neighbors. Halloween is one time of the year when people do things in gay abandon, living out their fantasies for this one night. The tremendous freedom of Halloween gives people who are normally stressed out with day-to-day work a chance to get loose, scary and naughty. Though Halloween is a festival for boisterous merrymaking and socializing till the wee hours of the night, it should stay within limits of decency.
