Dedicated Hosting 'offers Benefits To Firms'

By: Rick Dahne Home | Internet-and-Business | Web-Hosting

Companies can benefit from using dedicated hosting, it has been suggested.

According to Shawn Taylor, director of technology for OmniVue, such solutions provide the best way for businesses to gain from processes such as enhanced security.

He noted this is particularly the case when managed hosting technology is deployed quickly.

Clients in a variety of sectors, including light manufacturing, distribution and healthcare are increasingly finding speed to be one of the major advantages, he claimed.

The expert remarked: "Dedicated managed hosting offers faster deployment, lower upfront costs and predictable recurring fees vs large capital expenditures.

"Not only do clients see the additional benefits of built in disaster recovery ... but their IT departments are better able to focus on more pressing priorities."

Mr Taylor went on to state that with dedicated hosting, clients get security with the added benefit of owning their own software and accessing it via the internet.

He added: "Hosted solutions provide the flexibility needed to get the correct solution up and running quickly and affordably, without the need for an in-house IT department."

Such advantages may be particularly beneficial for companies at present given the tough nature of the economic climate.

Saving time and money through their IT strategies could make the difference between businesses failing or succeeding.

Although conditions in the market have picked up somewhat since the low-point after the credit crunch, there are predications among some analysts that spending reductions being implemented by the UK government could lead to a so-called 'double-dip' recession.

The coalition administration is making the cuts in order to address the budget deficit that has grown over the last few years.

Therefore, any competitive advantage enterprises can gain - whether it be though their use of IT systems or any other part of their business plans - could be crucial in ensuring their continuance.
