Depigmentation Proves To Be The Best Treatment For Vitiligo

By: Britney Simpson Home | Health-and-Fitness

Vitiligo is a skin ailment which is identified by white patches on the skin caused by the destruction of melanocytes (the cell causing pigmentation). Vitiligo affects the whole body including the mucous-membrane and the retina. The hair on the affected areas also turns white. Vitiligo is best treated through the depigmentation process and Benoquin with Monobenzone does it with perfection.

Though there are a number of contradictory theories, the real cause behind vitiligo is not known yet. One of the theories indicates that affected persons inherit a group of three genes which make them prone to depigmentation. Most of the researchers agree that vitiligo, being an auto-immune disease, shows depigmentation. The other theory suggests that the destruction of melanocytes is the cause behind vitiligo. Thus, the best possible treatment for the loss of pigmentation could be either depigmentation or repigmentation of the skin. Depigmentation of the skin is best done with Monobenzone.

The sun-exposed areas are most susceptible to vitiligo. The white patches that characterize the disease are mostly found on body parts like hands, feet, face, lips, areas around the eyes, mouth, and in some cases, on the private parts of the body. Uniform application of Monobenzone on these areas can cure vitiligo through depigmentation.

Vitiligo generally are of three types:

i) Focal pattern in which one or only few areas are affected,
ii) Segmental pattern where one side of the body gets affected, and
iii) Generalized pattern that affects both the side of the body symmetrically.

The affected parts should be evenly covered with a fine layer of Monobenzone regularly. Everyday the cream needs to be applied two to three times on the vitiligo affected skin, as suggested by the doctor.

If you notice any sustaining white patch on your skin for more than a month, you should consult the dermatologist. Never start any medication without doctor’s advice. Proper medication and dosage is equally important in the treatment of vitiligo. The doctor must be regularly reported of any change found on the skin during the medication. Using Monobenzone regularly can cure vitiligo. But you must apply the cream following the exact dosage prescribed by the doctor. Any change or miss in the dosage can affect the result.

Monobenzone cures vitiligo by depigmentation. This involves fading the rest of the skin on the body in order to match the already affected areas. In cases where 50% of the body skin is vitiligo affected, depigmentation proves to be the most effective treatment. Benoquin Monobenzone is the first choice for vitiligo patients.

The treatment process may show some side effects like partial swelling, redness, dryness, or cracking of the skin. The treatment makes the skin hypersensitive to sunlight. In that case you should never delay to consult the doctor. Skin contact with other person within 2 hours of the application of the medicine should be strictly avoided as it might cause depigmentation to that person’s skin as well. You should always apply sunscreen lotions in order to protect the skin from direct exposure to sunlight. A good treatment and counseling can protect the vitiligo patients from mental stress and depression. Monobenzone gives confidence to the patients as it cures the disease within short time.
