South Devon is one of the most spectacular places in the UK. From panoramic coastlines to ancient rural landscapes, this place is a mark of true English tradition. Explore Dartmoor, South Hams, Totnes, Salcombe, Modbury, Ivybridge and Kingsbridge, where you will find food and wine to tantalize your taste buds and a breathtaking countryside to indulge your mind in. Experience the uniquely mild climate of South Hams an area of outstanding natural beauty for a relaxing stay in South Devon.

There are must see attractions and places to visit in South Devon. Woodlands Family Theme Park in Totnes combines outdoor and indoor experiences for an ultimate family getaway. It includes a variety of rides and slides, playcentres, zoo-farms with exotic animals and water features. The famous South Devon Railway is a seven mile steam railway between Buckfastleigh and Totnes. Enjoy the lovely views of the Devon countryside and the river Dart, during the journey. Another important landmark you find in South Devon is the Dartmoor castle. This is a scenic-sited fortress, six hundred years old with beautiful views of the Dart estuary; you can also see the heavy chain that was used to block it from enemies during the war. The Bayards Cove Fort, Britannia Royal Navy College, Dartmouth Vintners, Salcombe Estuary and Dart estuary are some of the other attractions to visit during your holiday in South Devon.

Trail running is among the most favourite pastimes here as the moorlands, coastal paths and green lanes provide stunning trails for all runners. You can do it on your own or even participate in running events that take place throughout the year. South Devon is also home to some of the safest and award winning beaches in Britain. The quality of water and beaches are highly recommended. Crabbing is popular in the beaches and places that serve fine crab dishes are abundant. If you love the great outdoors, there are plenty of things to do, such as sailing, horse riding, walking, cycling, canoeing and golfing. You will find many places of historical importance in South Devon that are worth exploring such as grand country houses, ancient monasteries, castles and gardens. The Buckfast Abbey is a historic monastery with a church, and a monastic ground. The monks lead a spiritual and self sufficient life style away from the bustle of modern life. You can also try the Abbey’s popular tonic wine. Events and exhibitions take place all year round in South Devon castles. The Powderham Castle has a variety of such activities to suit the needs of the seasons and months.

The famous South West Coastal Path is an ideal place to walk, spot dolphins, sharks and other coastal wildlife. It is the longest marked long-distance footpath and is widely known as the National Trail that stretches for 630 miles of coast around the West Country. South Devon is the perfect place for a perfect holiday for you and the entire family. It is a place worth discovering.
