By: Media Marketing Home | Internet-and-Business | SEO

Online marketing is working on the three major platforms namely Yahoo, MSN and Google. These three search engines submit websites and enables user to search through infinite websites through search words also known as keywords in the language of online marketing.

MSN gives preferences to Meta tags: Meta tags are very important in a way that they create high ranking in search engines. A Meta tag consists of description on the top of the website consisting of title and keywords. Alternately it tells the site to open that domain which consists of the titles and keywords typed by the visitor. These Meta tags form the basis of search in search engine. Descriptions with precise keywords ad titles are better ranked than others. It is a comparison based ranking, where websites are ranked as per the descriptions.

Yahoo ranks website as per keyword density: There has to be a certain keyword density that assists the search engine to rank a particular site in search engine. Yahoo searches for the right keyword density. Too low density does not fetch desired results. Keywords are those words for which a visitor places the search. When the keywords are not searched properly in the content, then Yahoo can’t display results as per expectations and vice-versa.

Google prefers back-links for ranking websites: Google-search engine ranks websites as per back-links. One-way back-links are preferred because the site gets popular out of one-way back-links. Higher number of back-links informs better publicity and hence better placement in search engine-Google. Google prefers to rank those sites higher which are on elder to other sites in online market. For example: A five year old site is elder to one that is two years old, so the former gains higher ranking.

Yahoo doesn’t give any such preferences to wines. Yahoo and MSN give lot of importance to on-page keyword factors also. Websites are familiar with the ranking procedures. SEOs design and optimize the site as per rules and regulations to make their site rank high in search engines.
