What are the differences between Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 (MSS 2010) and Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 (SPF 2010)? In this article we'll try to answer this question. Most concise answer: the cost of products and their capabilities.

SharePoint Foundation 2010 (SPF 2010) is free software for Windows Server.

SharePoint Foundation 2010 offers minimum functionality, but on the other hand, those minimum possibilities are enough to compete with other systems. The corporate version of SharePoint Server 2010 has all the features of SharePoint Foundation 2010 and SharePoint Standard 2010. It's main advantage - enterprise search, business analyst and designer.

Enterprise search allows you to search documents in accordance with their internal content due to the enhanced processing and advanced content indexing. Corporate search shows similar results, available sketches and a preview. Users can specify advanced search options and have the opportunity to sort search results. Enterprise Search Preferences allow you to add your own glossary, control the relevance and use information about users, they need to display content.
