Different Aspects Of Affiliate Marketing

By: Sudhi Home | Business | Marketing

Before you dive in the world of affiliate marketing you need a little more explanation of the total procedure. I would explain to you step by step what you exactly need to know to have a comprehensive beginning of your affiliate marketing career.

1.First calm down and set aside your excitement about making it big. Always remember one thing that to make it big you must be practical and innovative and must believe in this statement: Persistence is the key. Give yourself one very strongly motivating goal like achieving your financial freedom in some reasonable time frame. What your time frame will be depends on what amount of work you want to give for this. Whatever amount of time you want to give make it specific and do your marketing job everyday for that much time without failure.

2.Create a merchant account to handle your payments. Merchant accounts are online money handling accounts through which you can make payments to different companies for purchasing their product or service and also can receive payments for any sale you make either through affiliate marketing or direct sales. You can receive payments through different ways like credit card payments and account to account transfer etc. You will need a credit card to open an account. Paypal is the most common one which most companies use.

3.Decide about the field or area related to which you will like to market the products. For example if you are keen on Share Investment and have some knowledge on it then you may want to market services related to Share Investment. Deciding your particular field of interest has two advantages:
"You will not lose interest or feel bored.
"You will be able to promote it much better than any other product.

4.Now you must look for affiliate programs from companies which have products and services related to your particular field of interest. For this you must register an account with a affiliate programs provider like PayDotCom and Clickbank. They all have different payment options. You should go and check them out. In this websites you will find products of all categories.

5.Once you choose one product you will be given one unique link which will contain your unique id. This link when clicked will take the visitor to the sales page of that particular product. For each product the links are unique. You can choose as many products you wish but always keep the links arranged so that they don't mix up. Some vendors will also provide you with many affiliate sales generating tools like banners, sales letters and suggestions. It is always good to check those additional resources out.

6.Now that you have all the links ready you are ready to go for the promotion of your products. Once you generate any sale through your link the specified amount of commission will be debited either to your merchant account or in your account of the affiliate program provider. Once your account has some minimum cutoff value of money you can then either request for a check or can go for any alternative payment facility they are having.

There is also something called a 2-tier affiliate program. In this kind of program you can have sub-affiliates under you. Then you will not only earn when you yourself generate a sale but also when any of your sub-affiliate generate sale. Here if you have some good affiliates under you then you will continue to earn money even when you are not doing anything. But you have to find your own sub-affiliates, train them, work in a group and keep them motivated for a long time which can be difficult sometimes if the program is not promising enough and does not generate reasonable income right at the beginning.
