Any occasion that demands a man to look his best and be dressed in a way reflecting his personality, and his immediate option of clothing will be suits. Men’s suits are a very common part of the wardrobes of men who attend social gatherings, as a man wearing a well-fitted suit forms a powerful and influential image of himself in the minds of people around. Men’s suit is the most important component of formal clothing for men. It’s the most suitable for occasions like meetings, formal parties, weddings or any other such gathering. A man’s suit is his companion from his school prom, to his office meetings and even to his wedding day. However, the style and colors for these suits differ from event to event. For official meetings and gatherings the color of the suits are kept to basics such as blue, grey or brown. Also, the patterns are kept simple and colors only as solids or monotones. Whereas, men’s dress suits are more informal; they are more suitable for parties and weddings. The color for these suits may be dark or even light shades such as beige, sky blue or white. Another famous type of men’s dress suits is the tuxedo or otherwise known as dinner jacket. It is worn for formal dinners and other such events. Be it a party at the Queen’s residence or a gathering for an official purpose, this type of men’s suits does its job perfectly. A usual idea of a tuxedo is a black jacket made of wool, worn with a dress shirt and a bow tie and matching black trousers. But there are different styles of the tuxedo also that are available like, the jacket may be single breasted i.e. which contain a single column of buttons, or double breasted which contain two columns of buttons. Single breasted is considered more formal and is chosen for official parties, while the double breasted jackets are opted for informal events. The most common color of tuxedos is black, however now-a-days dark blue and ivory are also chosen for this men’s suit. But for evening parties, black is the most preferred. The shirt color is kept to white or extends only to off-white. The shirt has wing collars, under which the bow tie in black is worn. Also, the collar of the jacket may be peak lapel, which may be in satin, or a shawl collar, which is a continuation of an unbroken collar. A cummerbund is also a part of a tuxedo. It is a piece of cloth matching to the jacket and is worn around the waist. If not a cummerbund, a waist-coat, with a low neck is worn beneath the jacket. Tuxedos are not just preferred for parties and other events but men’s wedding suits are also tuxedos in colors of black or ivory. They are also single breasted and worn with a bowtie and a cummerbund. These men’s tuxedos can be perfectly accessorized with a pair of pointed leather shoes, cufflinks and a classy watch. From time immemorial, the tuxedo has been worn widely by men on occasions that demands gentlemen at their best. Even today this type of men’s suit has not failed this duty and is worn just with a few changes, to meet the changing fashion scene of today’s world.
