With the Yankees holding onto a 2.5 game lead in the East, but having a 0-8 record against the Red Sox this year, this game is going to be intense. The Yankees are coming off of a two game sweep of the Blue Jays, while the Rays swept the Red Sox in a two game set. Pitching match for tonight has the Yankees Joba Chamberlian coming off of three impressive starts going against his Childhood Idol John Smoltz who has not been as impressive but does have 30 strikeouts over 36and 2/3 innings with only 5 walks. Regardless the Yankees offense will have to be on point tonight to continue their win streak and finally get a win against their Division Rivals this season.
