Do Not Fall Prey To The Acai Berry Scam!

By: Caitlin Ryan Home |

Not another one! I was really troubled by the news that there are more supplement scams! Greedy supplement companies are tarnishing the reputation of the beautiful acai berry in a similar manner to the wu yi tea scam.

We are all working so hard these days to make money in a poor economy, and when we try to take a proactive approach to our health, we do not want to lose money on a scam. Yet, it is more important now then ever to be proactive about our health because many of us cannot afford hefty doctor bills. So, how do we obtain acai berry supplements or any supplement without risking being scammed? Be informed, be aware!

The acai berry scam works similarly to the wu yi tea scam. A person is lured in by a free trial offer with only shipping charges to be charged to their credit card. Who does not want something for free? Of course, it is not and the person has just signed up for an auto shipment program!

Next, they receive charges on their credit card for acai berry supplements that have yet to arrive. Some of the acai berry scams are not even shipping anything, just charging for more supplements!

Worse yet is the fact that when they realized what happened, they tried to cancel the auto shipments and get a reimbursement for the charges and the acai berry company placed them on hold forever and made it very difficult to cancel. A few of the companies even asked for the free acai berry supplements to be returned before they would reimburse the credit card charge. Of course, many of the customers had already used their free trial.

A rule of thumb would be to avoid free trials; however, there may be some free trial companies who are honest and who really do want to prove their product to you through a free trial. So, how do you tell the difference?

Read, read, and read! We tend to skip over all of those minor details when we place orders or sign up for something. You truly do have to read the fine print, and even then, you may be at risk. Make a phone call to the company and verify that you are only signing up for a free trial and paying shipping. Ask them more than once and get a name of the person.

If there is no phone number, or if you are put on hold for a lengthy time to get a simple answer, the company is more than likely fraudulent!

For now, you may want to stick with reputable companies such as Amazon or sites that have some sort of merchant seal such as the Better Business Bureau. Just do not let the acai berry scams scare you away from using this wonderful supplement.

Antioxidants are very important for preventing disease and acai berries are loaded with them and other highly beneficial nutrients such as essential amino acids and omega 3 fatty acids.
