There are many extra functions available these days, such as text messaging, emails, camera etc. Just make sure it's something that you can and will use, otherwise you'll be paying out a little extra for no reason. It's probably wise to get a little more than you think you'll need; going over the amount of minutes you're allowed in your plan can be costly!
