Does Your Cooking Space Need A Kitchen Vent?

By: Clint Jhonson Home | Home-and-Family | Home-Appliances

You may not realize this but on average, one gallon of fat and oil are deposited on kitchen walls annually in kitchens that lack an adequate kitchen vent. How repulsive is the thought of fat stuck to your walls, ceilings and floors? We wouldn’t choose to slather grease on our walls with a brush so why cook without a good kitchen vent appliance?

If your kitchen has no cooking space ventilation system, consider a stainless steel island range hood. An island range hood is designed for installation in kitchens where the more traditional under-counter hoods are not compatible, such as island cook-top areas. Essentially, island range hoods are an innovative creation that provides a very flexible, convenient, â€free-standing†kitchen air exhaust appliance option for kitchens that otherwise would not easily accommodate a range hood.

Every kitchen needs a kitchen vent. If you do not have or do not use a range hood, run your fingers along the walls near your cook top; chances are the surface will be tacky and perhaps discolored. Whenever you cook there are particles of grease, oil and food that become airborne in the process. Steam and air carry cooking odors, steam and greasy residue in the kitchen air and can even carry throughout an entire home. Without a kitchen vent system to remove the contaminated air, the contaminants deposit on the floors, walls and ceilings. Greasy deposits can make any surface look bad and smell bad; an island range hood will eliminate both the greasy deposits and the odor by exhausting or cleaning the contaminant laden air.

An island range hood features a telescoping, adjustable height chimney exhaust. The standard island range hood features an 8’-9’ chimney that can be extended with an adaptor kit to fit a 12’ ceiling. Many consumers like the fact that many of the island hood models are retractable. Stainless steel is a very desirable finish for an island hood; it is durable, easy to clean, attractive and trendy.

At Deluxe Range Hood you will find high quality stainless steel range hoods in sizes to fit whatever space your kitchen allows. An island hood with a brushed stainless steel finish will fit well into your kitchen dcor; stainless steel goes well with any color scheme and kitchen design.

Many homeowners have the mistaken notion that their kitchen cannot be fitted with a kitchen vent appliance. Kitchens whose design includes island cooking space need an island hood to eliminate greasy deposits and odors. Island cooking spaces are convenient for the cook but they allow 360 of spatter area. The logical solution is to install an attractive stainless steel island range hood to eliminate the spattering of grease, oil, food particulate and moisture. Along with the grease etc. the range hood will eliminate cooking odors before they permeate the home.

A range hood is also a factor in making a kitchen safer. When excessive heat builds up on a stove top it can be a fire hazard. The best way to quickly eliminate the excessive heat is to turn on the island range hood to draw the hot air from the cooking surface.
