If you have accumulated all the rings on that stage, you are allowed to go through the bonus gate to play the multi-ball stage. The bonus gate resembles like a ring of stars. For each 20 million points you obtained, you will be rewarded with 1-Up.

The tables located in specific places on the stage contain 2 channels which can bring you to beneath the flippers and kill you. To avoid dying, activate the safety plugs and hit the drop targets located in the first and second stage. The plugs will be automatically turned off once it is used so you have to hit the drop target again. If you hit the targets while the plugs are activated, you will be rewarded with lots of points. If you die, all the things that you possess will be gone except the emeralds that you have accumulated.

The game begins at the lower section where there are 2 base flippers above the water. You need to quickly jump on the flippers or you will be devoured by a mechanical serpent. Shoot yourself with the flipper in order to get into the side pipes with three rings. You will be spring back into the upper section. The safety lids are opened by targeting the 2 targets located on the lower screen. The slime section is reached by going through the 2 opened pipes. In the slime section, land on the barrel, paddle to the middle, and hop in to obtain the first chaos emerald. On both sides of the map, remove the rail obstacles by going into the inner loop from the top. You must perform this task on both sides of the map. To reveal a passageway to the rail, jump into the center loop 3 times. To remove the barrels that are blocking the way to the rail, jump into the external tube 3 times.
