Every man dreams of one day owning a classic sports car. The memory of first seeing Sean Connery driving an Aston Martin in Goldfinger is not easily forgotten. Likewise memories of playing with Porsche, Lotus and Ferrari Corgi cars in the school playground, rarely leaves a person and stays without them in later life. Owning a classic car is a dream, like scoring in a cup final, climbing Everest or travelling the world. Unfortunately it often remains a dream. However, that doesn't mean you have to give up on the idea altogether. Most major car manufacturers now offer a range of products and official merchandise based around their best and most popular models. Companies have recognized that there is a huge demand for such products and acted accordingly. Companies like Jaguar, Volvo and Porsche are all taking the accessories market seriously. The range of Jaguar, Volvo and Porsche accessories that are on the market might surprise you. It's not just a replacement cigarette lighter or driving gloves, there's something for every occasion. Buying accessories is a great way of getting closer to that dream of actually, one day, owning a performance car. It's also a lot cheaper! It's not giving up on the dream in fact it's the opposite; giving you a little part of the dream while you wait for the day when you can get behind the wheel. The popularity of high performance cars has never been so great. Magazines, TV shows and books are produced all the time based around the cars and the history that goes with them. You only have to see how popular the TV show Top Gear is to get an idea of just how popular the area is. Look at any action movie and there'll also inevitably be a performance car in there somewhere. Form Steve McQueen to Vin Diesel, there has always been a pin up for the petrol-head and a market for related items. The range of Volvo, Porsche or Jaguar accessories is typical of what can be bought from most manufacturers these days. The big name companies have realized the possibilities of tapping into such a lucrative market and acted accordingly. It's not only a great way of making money but it's extra publicity and creates brand awareness. The names of Porsche, Ferrari and Triumph are now as likely to be found in high street shops as Gucci, Prada and Versace. The number of accessories available to the man in the street is not only huge but the variety is surprisingly eclectic. The range includes gadgets, toys and clothing. There are the obvious items; t-shirts, baseball caps and key rings but there are also unusual items as well. And the range isn't just limited to the male petrol head either. In fact many of the items have little to do with cars at all. With more and more women becoming interested in motor sports and cars in general the need for merchandise that is not specifically aimed at men is important. The Jaguar accessories range takes this into account and includes items that can be used by both men and women; umbrellas, paper weights and mugs. It also has items that are exclusively for women; perfume, broaches and women's t shirts. Of course the whole reason for buying any of these Porsche, Ferrari or Jaguar accessories is to get a step closer to owning the real thing; they are a stop gap while you wait for the bank balance to improve. So included in the collections are some impressive die cast models. You might not be able to afford the full size version yet but being reminded of those school days when you first started dreaming of getting behind the wheel is never a bad thing.
