You will find that people you were in treatment with might become some of your closest friends. The reason for this is that they will understand exactly what you are going through because they are going through the same thing. You will also want to make sure that you go to the meetings because this will help you to be able to keep strong. Another thing that you will have to make sure that you concentrate on is not going back. You will have to be strict about who you hang out with along with what type of atmospheres. The reason for this is that you do not want to follow the same trends that will make it easier for you to fall back to your old ways. Another thing you will have to be careful of is medications you take. The reason for this is some of the medications that are used for a common cold or allergies might trigger some of the same effects that you felt while on drugs. If this occurs you could start craving the drugs you have gotten away from. You will want to make sure that you pay close attention to what people tell you to stay away from for this purpose. These are just some of the things to keep in mind. There are a lot of things that you might not think about now that you will need to pay close attention to once you get clean. Just remember this is not a bad thing in the end you will be a better person and love you more for taking the leap and becoming clean.
