Dust Controlling Systems For Industries

By: Scott Lintern Home | Business

Dusts, commonest element of atmosphere, are most of the times invisible. They mix with the air and make them invisible. Dusts are not health friendly. They enter into our lunges while we breathe. They trigger allergies to kick in. So dust controlling is necessary.

Proper ventilation is necessary for dust controlling in the residences. One can also take the help of air cleaner to control dust at home. An air cleaner filters the air and make it dust free and pure.

Dust problem is the most common problem in the industries. In the industrial process dusts are come out as common elements. These dusts are hanging in the air as like as mist. This dust mist makes the environment foggy and is harmful for the employees. So dust controlling is a must for the industries.

Dust Controlling Systems for Industries

To control dust problem, dust control equipments are the best solution. Type and source of the dusts are the first considering fact to choose dust control equipment.

To solve an indoor dust problem spraying wetting agents is the best way to control dust. There are varieties of wetting agents are available but water is the most common, effective and inexpensive agent. While installing such dust controlling system it is important to locate the spray nozzles where the creation of dust is mostly occurring.

If the spraying system is unable to control the dust effectively then transporting it out by using a mechanical system is required. The systems can collect the dusts before they fall out of the air. There are different types of dust collectors are available such as, Inertial Separators, Baghouse Collectors, Wet scrubbers, Electrostatic Precipitators and Cartridge Dust Collectors.

Inertial separator, a combination of gravitational, inertial, and other forces, is used to separate dust from gas. Among various types of inertial separators Settling Chambers, Baffle Chambers, and Centrifugal Collectors are the three most common types.

Baghouse is a fiber dust collector made of woven or felted cotton, synthetic, or glass-fiber. In this efficient and cost effective dust collector the dust filled air stream passes through fabric bags that filter the dust particles.

In wet scrubber liquid are commonly used. These liquid are come into the contact with the gas stream and dusts are captured by the scrubbing liquid in droplets.

In Electrostatic Precipitators systems electrostatic forces are used to separate dust particles from exhaust gases. In this system dirty airs are allowed to passing between electrodes and while passing the dust particles received a negative charge. The particles are attracted to grounded or positively charged electrodes on collection plates while the clean air flows out.

Cartridge Dust Collectors are an alternative to a bag filter. They employ perforated metal cartridges that contain a pleated, non-woven filtering media and use lower filtration velocities and are more compact.

These are the most common dust controlling system. By using any one of these systems industries can solve the dust problem. Before installing a dust controlling system, taking help from an expert is preferable.
