Dynamics Gp Michigan Local Support In Grand Rapids: Modification, Upgrade, Recovery, Ecommerce

By: Alba Spectrum Home | Computers-and-Technology | Software

With recent release of Microsoft Dynamics GP version 2010/11.0 we expect new wave of upgrades, including custom business processes Dexterity, VBA, eConnect code revision to become compliant with version 2010. There is noticeable trend in adopting Barcoding technologies by opening Corporate ERP objects and forms for barcode scanning, or tighter integration with Point Of Sales systems, such as Counterpoint, Microsoft RMS. Another trend is creating new ecommerce B2B or B2C portal and integrating ecommerce shopping cart into Great Plains SOP Invoice. These and others Dynamics GP services, such as (but not limited to) providing data repair, customization, FRx, Crystal, SSRS reports design, data conversion, migration from legacy Accounting applications (Great Plains Accounting for DOS, Windows or Macintosh, QuickBooks, Peach Tree, Microsoft Small Business Financials or in case of downsizing Oracle eBusiness Suite/Applications/Financials) are available for new or existing Great Plains customers in Western and Central Michigan. Let’s review one of the most popular support topics:

1.Warehouse Management System or Barcoding extension for Dynamics GP Distribution set of modules. Classical WMS is realized by exposing to barcode scanning Purchase Receipt transaction (inventory replenishment in WMS terminology), Sales Transaction Entry (Order Fulfillment in WMS), Inventory Transfer and Adjustment. We recommend the approach where Warehouse Management System is not external standalone application, but rather extension to Dynamics GP

2.eCommerce extension for Dynamics GP. The solution opens such popular shopping carts as Magento/PHP, ASP .Net Storefront and others for the integration with SOP Invoice or Sales Order. In wizard manner you can setup your ecommerce module within few hours

3.Dynamics GP Customizations. Here you should review such tools and technologies as Microsoft Dexterity, eConnect, Extender, Modifier with VBA. For data conversions we recommend Integration Manager (where you can base your integration on Advanced ODBC in really complicated cases, when you have to do cross platform one time or ongoing integration, including data pulling from Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft Access, Pervasive SQL, Ctree, Excel, IBM Lotus)

4.Version upgrade. It should be planned, as upgrade path may include several steps, especially when you are upgrading from the older version, nor longer directly supported by Microsoft Business Solutions, or even migrating from such DB platforms, as Pervasive SQL 2000/Btrieve, or Ctree

5.What to do if somebody screwed up your Dynamics GP implementation? Well, Great Plains is mid-market Corporate ERP solution and it requires consultant exposure to various technologies as well as having industry expertise. In some situations you have to resist to â€hard selling†pressure and do your homework, including checking references. But the good thing is the fact that there is competition and you can always ask for second opinion
