In situations where a student is alone or in potential danger, she or he doesn’t need the extra hassle of recovering her mobile phone and pressing a number of buttons to get through to the police. eClick has just one button to press when students feel tensed or frightened. Holding the alert button down for just three seconds will directly notify the campus police. In case students are off campus, the adjacent local police will be alerted, keeping them safe wherever they are. Once police receive the distress signal, they will call the registered mobile number to verify the emergency. This has to be done in case of a false alert or if the alert button has been pressed by mistake. If the student does not answer the call or does not give the proper safe code, the police will be dispatched to the location without any delay. eClick uses GPS, WiFi and Cellular Triangulation technologies to provide the most precise indoor and outdoor tracking. Within minutes, police will obtain your exact location as well as directions on how to reach you. Reports show that eClick is six times faster than standard technology used by 911 and ten times more accurate in pinpointing your location. Location updates are sent every thirty seconds. This is particularly useful if you are moving from the scene of the initial emergency alert. A breadcrumb trail will also demonstrate the student’s location history, making it easier for the police to track her down. eClick is a small handy device that does not look like a security tool.
