Eco Friendly And Fair Trade Goods Are The Way Of The Future

By: Stewart Wrighter Home | Business

Fair trade products seem to be taking the world by storm these days. These items, made by people who get a living wage out of the production of such goods, are sold around the world today thanks to the wonders of the internet. In fact, even eco friendly products are being sold too since this also fits in with what people are clamoring for now.

Foreign workers often have to contend with undue competition since they do not have the wherewithal to contact foreign buyers. This leaves them at the mercy of those who are really out to fleece them. Since some companies have now decided not to do this kind of unsavory work ethic, the ability of these poor people to get more for the work that they do is increasing. Since they are happy with a decent wage, even those who buy the goods feel that they have done something to help those in dire needs.

These companies go to great lengths to source some self-help groups around the world to make sure that the money that they spend goes to grassroots level. These groups, usually women only groups, have to tend to their families from the money that they can produce through their work. Even youth groups are included in these schemes also so that those who get paid can put the money to the best use.

The goods that are produced cover a whole range of materials from leather-covered journals to recycled rubber used for the soles of shoes. They use many different forms of decoration to brighten up their goods which gives them a rustic but professional look which everyone seems to admire. Since recycled materials are much in predominance, this does the world good too and anyone who buys these goods can feel happy that they have donated to the world and its inhabitants in a good way.

The problem with a lot of third world countries is that they are still very much male dominated too. Women are merely chattels in some places and they really struggle a lot with trying to bring up kids which husbands often ignore. Of course, when it comes to receiving dowry for the daughters the men are very much there with their hands held out and the family itself does not often benefit from this outdated system.

Most companies who use this system of buying from third country artisans will often sport a logo to show that they are helping the poor. If anyone wants to support this system, they should take a look online for stores which offer this style of goods. By just buying holiday gifts or special gifts for specific occasions, money is being put into the hands of the poor and helping those who do not have as much as we do. This is much better than supporting companies who use slave labor to get cheap goods and then charge top drawer prices to the general public to make the best profit for themselves.
