Effectively Marketing Your Website With Back Links

By: Alan Largo Home |

It used to be that back links were what you used to generate traffic to your websites. This was because search engines were basic and not as advanced as they are today.

You would place your back links onto relevant directories that were then searchable based on category. While using directories is still done today as an effective means, it is not the only means to generate traffic to your website.

There are numerous other ways that you can market your website in todays internet. In fact, there are even multiple ways of making use of back links.

It is a good idea to use as many of these strategies and methods as possible. The reason for this is that each one touches on a slightly different aspect or area of the target market you are aiming to draw into your site.

Such things as article marketing, email marketing, sales letters, press releases, pay per click ads, blogs and forums are all excellent places to put back links. Lets have a closer look at each of these to learn more.

Article marketing is one way to obtain both keyword relevant content and back links. You create optimized content relevant to the subject of your website.

You place your links in the resource box and submit to article directories, which in turn offer the content up for free provided that the resource box and articles are not changed.

Anyone interested places the content on their site and you have obtained back links. The next is email marketing.

Email marketing is generating emails which contain back links and sending them to mailing lists. Be sure if using this method that you are sending to individuals who have opted to receive mail from you.

You can also use affiliations in order to obtain new members to your mailing lists, such as sales letters and press releases.

Sales letters and press releases are another great way to generate back links. This works similarly to article directories. You create the press release about your product or service and then publish it.

There are a number of sites that provide strictly for press releases. Sales letters are often used in email marketing but can also be used by social networking and social bookmarking sites to not only generate traffic but also back links as well.

Pay per click ads is normally considered a marketing strategy aspect in and of itself. However, it does provide for back links automatically.

That is because the generated advertisements that you create and place in these types of systems all contain links which lead back to pages on your website. Then, there are blogs and forums.

Blogging and forum posting is something that is relatively new and while forums have been around for a while. Marketing using them is something that belongs to the Web 2.0 world.

Blogging is basically placing keyword rich though relevant data or even reviews onto various locations which are then picked up. Back links are frequent in these and they are widely read especially among those that are involved in social networking.

These are just some of the ways that you can take back links, and in a short amount of time place tens even hundreds of them all over the internet. This will generate both website ranking, traffic, and exposure for your website for a long time to come.
