Elements To Remember In Creating Your Custom Brochures

By: Colleen Davis Home | Business | Advertising

Custom brochures are great tools to use in business marketing. Creating your own brochures allows you to realize your own vision and communicate the ideas you want to extend to your audience. Whether to introduce a new product or simply create awareness of your brand, custom brochure printing can always be relied on.

Custom printing for brochures makes it easier for you to form the message that you want to impart. In light of this, you must familiarize yourself with brochure parts and other related elements, and the overall design. Combining all these things effectively will allow you to produce original and remarkable custom brochures.

To help you in creating your brochures, here are several ideas that you may apply and incorporate in your campaign.

Folding

Understand the workings of each folding option. The folds are not merely done to make your brochures more packed in. The fold is a functional element of a brochure that affects its presentation and the ease of reading of the recipient. The way your brochures are folded facilitates the flow of your content so that they spread out your ideas in the way that you intend them to be. With the right fold, you can maximize the front cover in order to grab the reader’s attention and entice them to open the brochure. The same is true with the back cover panel where other pertinent information can be placed and seen should the reader turn over the brochure without opening it. To give you an idea, here are the most common types of brochure folds:

Tri-Fold Brochure - A three-panel brochure is usually a letter-size paper that folds to fit into a #10 envelope. This fold creates six panel, that is, three on each side of the sheet.

Bi-Fold Brochure - The bi-fold is a two-panel brochure that folds to a half-page. This type of fold can create a landscape or portrait orientation.

Gate Fold Brochure - This type of fold are used in larger sizes of paper that can accommodate the extra folds. Gate fold is achieved with the two end panels fold inward, which is then fold again at the center of the page.

Accordion Fold Brochure - As the name suggests, this type folds the brochure like an accordion. The panels are fold on top of each other.

Brochure size

To know the right size of brochure that you need to use, plan what you need to include and how do you want to present them. Avoid making a guess then end up with a size that is so large you’ll have trouble filling up with details. Keep in mind that the content of your brochure should contribute to your goal and relevant to your message.

Content

Make sure that your brochure enjoys a great combination of interesting copy and eye-catching photos. As mentioned, all these should be relevant to your message so don’t just put in there any elements just to fill up the space. Plan everything that you want to include in your custom brochures.
