By: Michiel Van Kets Home | Home-and-Family | Home-Improvement

There are many people who suffer from allergies and it seems that there are more and more allergic reactions to more and more things on what appears to be a daily basis. If you are one of those people, or someone in your family suffers from allergies then you already know the importance and the difficulty there can be in getting your home clean. This article is a must read for those who are asthma sufferers.

One of the things that almost everyone uses is a vacuum cleaner however for those who are suffers of allergies, such as those of dust mites or even animal fur, then the importance of a good quality carpet cleaner is even more obvious. Fortunately there are many excellent models of vacuum cleaner on the market today offering excellent advances in technology to assist in the fight against these carpet borne attackers.

When you are purchasing a vacuum cleaner one of the most important aspects to consider, in the area of your and your families health is the consideration of the type of bag and filtration system involved. You want to ensure that the task of cleaning your carpet actually gets to the root of the problem and traps these allergy causing invaders and does not â€blow†them back out into the areas you are cleaning.

You want to look for a vacuum cleaner that offers a superior vacuum cleaner bag. Such as those that are one, or even better, two layers soft, cloth-like material. You will also find that there are some bags on the market that fit specific carpet cleaners that have special motor and air cleaner filters. While the fact that they offer superior filtration may lead you to believe these are more complex items to use, this is not in fact true. Many of these bags are simple to remove and replace within the vacuum cleaner unit.

Your aim is to find a vacuum cleaner bag that traps 100% of allergens. This is not the end however; you are also looking for a bag that will provide for no growth of mold, fungus or bacteria. There are vacuum bags such as this that offer a three-ply filter system which makes them much stronger and which means they are much less likely to tear than paper bag options do.

The other important area that you need to focus on in relation to allergy prevention is in the area of the filters actually used within the vacuum cleaners themselves. There is a filtration system known as HEPA. HEPA filters mean that they are â€High Efficiency Particulate Arresting†filters.

Genuine HEPA filters will adhere to strict guidelines filtering a minimum of 99.7% of particles of .3 microns. Beware of copies. True HEPA vacuum cleaners have filters that meet the strict testing guideless as well as being assigned an individual serial number.

Considering the protection offered by genuine HEPA filters the additional cost for a true HEPA filter over that of a standard filter is worth the additional expenditure. If you are not convinced then you should be reminded that a HEPA filter removes almost all of the allergens from your carpet, floor or furniture. Even more importantly than that fact is that with a HEPA filter system those particles are not â€blown†back into the air. For those who suffer from allergies, such as asthma, a vacuum cleaner with a genuine HEPA filter system combined with superior vacuum cleaner bags is a must.

So if you care about the health and well being of your family and yourself make the right choice and purchase a vacuum cleaner that offers a HEPA filtration system and combine that unit with superior bags for ultimate protection in your home.
