Not everyone is a fan of hip hop, but everyone knows about Eminem. Ever since he came on the scene in 1999, the rapper has been loved and hated, but certainly never ignored. He has come out with a slew of hit albums and hip hop songs, as well as some impressive Eminem mixtapes. This is only one of the many dimensions of his amazing career. The Slim Shady LP, which featured amazing hip hop beats and mind spinning lyrics, was released in 1999 and made the rapper an instant household name. However, he had already recoded an independent album in 1996 entitled Infinite. The album, like all of the ones that would follow, was intensely personal and gave fans a glimpse of the man behind the lyrics. In addition to albums and Eminem mixtapes, the artist otherwise known as Slim Shady has had a successful career in a variety of other venues. Many were skeptical when he announced plans to become an actor, but he gave a critically acclaimed performance in the 2002 film 8 Mile. He has also published a memoir of his life and started his own record label, Shady Records. Although he continues to have a thriving solo career, the rap star continues to collaborate with other artists on the occasional Eminem mixtape. Streetfighter featured collaborations with many huge hip hop stars including Lil Wayne and Mos Def. They have included remixes of some of his hit songs as well as new tracks that fans cannot hear anywhere else. Eminem mixtapes are just one aspect of one of the most successful careers in rap history. From acting in award winning films to publishing books, there seems to be nothing that Eminem cannot do. His catchy lyrics, fantastic hip hop beats and personal take on music have made him a living legend in the word of hip hop.
