So you have a sinus infection and it just won't go away. The doctor has diagnosed you with sinusitis, which is just a fancy term for sinus infection. The antibiotics you have been prescribed may have brought some temporary relief and possibly none at all. No matter what you do, you just can't seem to get rid of this infection in your head. No matter which of the many symptoms you are experiencing, sinus infections are no fun. Each year millions and millions of people are affected by the condition of chronic sinusitis. Chronic sinusitis begins with an inflammation of the mucous membranes in your sinuses. Sinuses are the air-filled passages around your nose and throat. Chronic sinusitis can have devastating effects on your life and can make you feel plain miserable. If you have chronic sinusitis, you may have a hard time breathing through your nose. You may also experience frequent headaches and tenderness in your face. Additionally, aching behind your eyes and frequent yellow or greenish discharge from your nose or drainage down the back of your throat are common symptoms. The most common approach to treating chronic sinus infections is for a doctor to prescribe antibiotics. Unfortunately, antibiotics only kill bacteria and most cases of chronic sinusitis are not bacterial in nature. In 1999, Mayo Clinic researchers announced that they had found the cause of most chronic sinus infections -- an immune system response to fungus. They said that this discovery opens the door to the first effective treatment for this problem, the most common chronic disease in the United States. Since then, many people have been finding the relief they have been searching for by using an all natural mineral supplement called colloidal silver to keep their sinuses healthy and free of infection. Colloidal silver has been reported to kill 650 microorganisms, many of which are associated with human diseases. This does not automatically mean that taking colloidal silver will "cure" diseases "caused" by these germs. Colloidal silver only kills microorganisms when they are in contact with it for a sufficient period of time.
