As we mentioned in other articles, endometriosis grow somewhere else other than the endometrium also reacts to hormonal signals of the monthly menstrual cycle, building up tissue, breaking it, and eliminating it through the menstrual period. As we know endometriosis causes symptom of depression during menstrual cycle. In this article, we will discuss how endometriosis elevates symptom of depression. I. Definition No body immune from depression their life, becoming depression is a normal respond to certain situation in our daily life. Women with endometriosis feels depress because of suddenly surge of certain hormones or chemicals in the brain caused by low levels of serotonin in the body. II. How endometriosis elevates symptom of depression. Depression for women with endometriosis is caused by high levels of estrogen and low levels of progesterone resulting in depleting the levels of serotonin that is necessary to maintain the nervous tension. It triggers 1. Loss of energy Loss of energy is caused by abnormal function of liver in carbohydrate metabolism during to high levels of estrogen that interferes with regulation of insulin during menstrual cycle. 2. Insomnia Nervous tension and menstrual cramps caused hormone unbalancing of chemical in the brain and over active uterine muscles. 3. Loss of concentration Women with heavy flow may have difficulty to concentrate to their daily function caused by iron deficiency as resulting of breaking off the small vein in the abdominal region. 4. Anxiety It is caused low levels of selenium in the body due to high levels of estrogen during menstrual cycle. 5. Low self esteem It may be caused by inability in performing normal daily activities such as works, daily functions etc. and vitamin B complex deficiency. 6. Change of eating habit It is caused by hormone imbalance resulting of high levels of estrogen Remember these symptoms may come and go during menstrual cycle for women with endometriosis as resulting of hormone imbalance.
