Enterprise Im Client: Necessary Features

By: Justyn Hornor Home | Computers-and-Technology

Your enterprise IM client should have all of the necessary features for communicating in the business world today. Let me give you an example: our team has recently been asked to upgrade the systems in our working environment. The problem is many different parties own the various components of the systems. Communicating to-be from as-is while obtaining authority and material from the correct group can be difficult through e-mail. With the recent addition of our enterprise IM client, our team has drastically cut down approval time, improved visibility, and increased customer service by allowing the team to take on tasks outside of contractual obligations. This has turned into a better use of the labor budget for all parties involved.

Secure Instant Message

There are benefits of sending a secure instant message. With the instant messaging feature of our enterprise IM client, a request for authority will travel up the chain of command and back down in just ten to twenty minutes. Before, getting authority was a bottle neck. Our team would have an idea and wait an average of two to three days to get a response. This is just one of many useful features.

Co-browsing

The co-browse feature has been invaluable in training and showing new capabilities. Often with the ever-changing environment, there is new software. In order to get buy-in, we must do a small amount of training. Co-browsing through our enterprise IM client is unbeatable at communicating the usefulness of new software or answering questions. Our team is now able show others the capabilities of the software without traveling out of the office. Training first time users is a cinch.

File Transfers

Another feature of our enterprise IM client is the icing on the cake: the file transfer feature. Often, the files transferred via email would be too large and take up the remaining capacity of the receiver’s memory space allowed. It is no longer necessary to send large email or URL’s to share drives with our enterprise IM client file transfer feature. This saves uploading time and space on share drives as well.

Voice Chat

The next feature that is just as valuable as file transfers is the voice chat. With this feature from our enterprise IM client, our team is able to communicate verbally with each other and to have a personal connection with our clients. We can soften harsh sounding text or vice versa.

The various feature of our enterprise IM client have been a useful tool. Combining the voice chat feature and the co-browse feature has been the best addition to our team’s communication. Of course, without the secure messaging and chatting, we could spend days leading up to the tasks that really produce results. By communicating verbally we can add back the human interaction that is often removed in our busy IT connected business world.
